The main feature of DriveAngel is its capability to automatically call for help in case you are in a vehicle which suffered a major road accident. In addition to helping you survive a car crash, DriveAngel has two distinctive sets of features:
A) PROACTIVE SAFETY FEATURES:
1 Once activated, DA will warn you, if need be, about your excessive speed at any one given point of your route.
2 You will not receive phone calls and text messages while driving, meaning you cannot be distracted and cannot crash as a result of being distracted in this way. These days a considerable percentage of road accidents (about 70%) take place because drivers are distracted by calls and messages.
3Excessive noise can affect your concentration. Hence DA will ask you to turn the music down if the sound within the car exceeds the safe level.
4 Driver fatigue is the second most common cause of road deaths. DA counts minutes and miles of your uninterrupted driving and, once a preset limit is reached ,it will ask you to take a break and stretch your arms and legs and/or have a cup of tea or coffee.
B) Social Networking & passive safety features:
1 A minute or two after you start driving (or just sitting in the car that moves), the DA app wakes up and asks you whether you want to turn it on. Once it is turned on, it will notify your own network of private DriveAngels. (see the next bullet)
2 If you so wish, you can have an unlimited number of private DriveAngels (DAs). These private DAs are your friends or family who you invite to join your DA social network. You have a number of options as to the role your private DAs can play.
3 The „follow me“ button. In the settings you can choose to have this button as a prompt after switching on the app, meaning you would like to be followed by your Angels, or to notify your Angels automatically.
4 According to your own settings, your DAs will be notified when you start driving. You can choose, for example, that your Angels are notified only when and if you set off on a long journey or when your speed exceeds a limit set by you in your personal settings. Most people will find there is very little or no need to engage their angels for short urban commutes as there is a very low risk of an accident not being noticed on a busy urban road.
5 Once you start driving, your DAs will receive your personalised message such as: “Hi Russel. This is Angela. I am driving from London to Glasgow. Unless there is something urgent please do not call or text me until I arrive in Glasgow. ” If you use this link http://www.driveangel.co.uk/myangels/watch-angela-driving/q23trzcx you will be able to see, in real time, where I am now and how I am driving“. Thank you for not calling until I arrive in Glasgow and helping me drive safer.“.
You will receive an automatic notification when Angela arrives in Glasgow.
USING YOUR MOBILE PHONE WHILE DRIVING IS DANGEROUS.
6 When you arrive in your destination, your Angels and friends will automatically get a message similar to this:
“This an automatic notification: I have safely arrived in Glasgow. If you want you can call or text me from now on. “

7 While driving, you can share what you see with other DA users who drive at the same time. For example, you can alert them about an accident that has slowed down traffic on your stretch of the road. This alert will be received only by those drivers who are close enough to be at risk of being affected.
8 If your Angels can be bothered to check your DA link, they will be able to see in real time your driving style and how safe and „green“ you are in terms of speed, cornering, braking, carbon footprint etc.
